2544 STEPPER DRIVER

So it is difficult to detect the zero-crossing point accurately when the motor work at low speed. How can I control 40 steppers at the same time? Hi, Try the CNC parts suppliers, that YouTube has a followup showing assembly of the artwork, each motor unit looks like a complete unit and as you suggest, they may just tell it position instructions. I guess I could do servos but I need to be able to accurately know where the motors are at any time. With a large number of motors you will be faced with the problem of making connections to an Arduino. I figure steppers with hall-effect devices for a zero reference.

It needs to not fail and I know the more step;er I have the more likely to have a failure. So it looks like it is possible and desirable to have a single Ardunio control all motors, not entirely convinced how to achieve this. Thus it can make the motor speed control system have higher performance.

Application Research of Stepper Motor Control with TMSF

What I want to be able to say to the stepper is “go to 43degrees”, “go to 23degrees” So what I really need is a controller on the stepper that doesn’t need me to to send PWM instructions but rather can be told what position the rotor needs to be in. I figure 25444 with hall-effect devices for a zero reference.

Use port expanders to get the extra pins. Two or three hours spent thinking and reading documentation solves most programming problems. I have some steppers on order ATM should get them soon.

The experimental results prove that this new frequency converter has simple structure, high control precision, higher voltage utilization ratio, better dynamic and static property. With a large number of motors you will be faced with the problem of making connections to an Arduino.

controlling multiple stepper motors

This paper introduces how to realize the stepper motor stpeper based on digital signal processor TMSF The control system is implemented from both hardware and software parts. I think I’m missing something.

Hi, Do you need individual control to all 40or are they all 40 doing the same thing in unison? I would still need to work out synchronisation but moving would be more simple. Just do not think of using more than one Arduino it will cause you more trouble than it is worth.

No you can use one Arduino stspper control as many stepping motors as you like. Applied Mechanics and Materials Volumes However I’m unsure how to synchronise all the steppers and how to have one controller PC, R-Pi, Ardunio that directs the movements of all the steppers. So looking at the stepper motor link it looks like what I need is the A chip to sstepper the motors. And the experiments verified the good control performance and dynamic characteristics of the system.

The stability of system is analyzed. Application Research of Stepper Motor Control with Zhejiang University of Technology, Then steppr could have as many “standard Arduino’s” as you need.

This paper introduces the motor speed control system which consists of three DSP. At ten seconds per rotation you have the time.

Does anyone have any idea how I might achieve this please? Cost is not an stdpper. Not that precisely but something similar. I do understand the technical issues and it comes down to a practical implementation that is possible, within budget and 2454. For 40 motors that will probably mean two Megas.

Everything runs on smoke, let the smoke out, it stops running Timing is not an issue everything is relatively slow one full rotation will never be faster than 10 seconds.

So it is difficult to detect the zero-crossing point accurately when the motor work at low speed. If I need to purchase an Arduino per stepper that’s fine but I’m more concerned with the work involved in the production and maintenance issues.
